Yeah, back in the 70's 80's, the title 'bodice rippers' were aptly named due to the heroes raping their heroines.

Can't wait to read this one, as Elena and Clay are one of my favorite couples!

Haven't really noticed a current rape theme in UF, but I remember being really annoyed by it's prevalence in romance books back when I was a teenager.

I think rape scenes in UF has always been a predominant trope. It features in the Weather Warden, Kitty Norville and the Signs of the Zodiac for one. I think its rarer if its portray the rape mid series ala Mercy. But I agree smoking its interesting to see how this trope evolves - because with some books I dont think it deals with it in a good way.
But I cant wait until I get this book still havent bought it yet- waiting for the UK edition :D

Elena and Clay are my favorites of the Otherworld stories (Clay is on my list of fictional boyfriends). I just got this book in the mail yesterday and can't wait to get started! Nice review!

I'm obsessed with any book taking place in Alaska! I've noticed the rape trend for UF and PNR books this year? Not that I mind if it enriches the story, but interesting how I keep reading more bks with rape scenes.

Great Review!
