Shades of Pink

When I saw Laura Hunsaker talking on Twitter about an anthology she was a part of that would be donating 100% of its profits to breast cancer research, I knew that I needed to help spread the word.  Here to tell us more about the project is it’s creator, Kallysten.

Shades of Pink Charity Anthology

Empty BedThank you Nicole for having me on your blog today. I’d like to tell your readers about a project I’ve been working on for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October is my birth-month, and every year I try to do a special month-long event for my readers. Last year, I decided to offer gifts and prizes to readers who participated in a fundraiser for the research against breast cancer, and we ended up raising over $250.

This year, I wanted to try to top that, and I figured I’d need some help. I recruited 32 authors, some veteran writers and others new to the craft, and asked them to write short romance stories with one common point: all stories have a pink element in them. Sometimes it’s an aspect of a character, sometimes a piece of clothing, an object, a flower…

The stories go from sweet to sexy to spicy, and cover half a dozen genres (paranormal, sci-fi, contemporary, historical, BDSM, fantasy, YA). Some authors played with characters from their existing books, others created brand new worlds for us.

These 33 stories are gathered in an anthology titled Shades of Pink that totals over 200.000 words / about 500 pages as a PDF. We offer this ebook as a thank you gift to anyone donating to our cause until November 15th. After that, the anthology won’t be available anymore.

The suggested donation is $5. Funds are raised via Stayclassy.org and all proceeds go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Readers can also donate to the charity organization of their choice (with a focus on breast cancer) and email their receipt to receive their copy of the anthology in either PDF, ePub or mobi (kindle).

The authors who offered a story for this anthology are Kate Baum, Brei Betzold, Jean Booth, Catherine Bowman, Perci T. Brooks, Rose Caraway, Bethan Cooper, Sarah Daltry, Vivien Dean, JJ Ellis, Rachel Firasek, Sabrina Garie, Amber Green, T. Hammond, Lisa M. Harley, Susan Harris, K. R. Haynes, Ellie Heller, Laura Hunsaker, Jennifer James, Torie James, Kallysten, K.A. Linde, C. Deanne Rowe, DJ Shaw, Madeline Sheehan, Eden Summers, Gill Taber, J Annas Walker, Matthew Welch, Kristin L. Wilson, Zoe York, Angela Yseult, and myself, Kallysten.

I invite your readers to come have a look at our official page, where they’ll be able to find teasers for all the stories, interviews of the authors posted during all of October, and of course the link where they can donate and help this worthy cause.

Thank you for helping me spread the word!

  1. What a great project, I hope you will get a lot of money raised. As my grandmother and my boss died of this disease, I do support the Dutch organisation when they come collecting door to door twice a year.
