As a hot night on the Strip turns into a hotter night at the hotel, Ethan begins to prove there’s a good guy under his bad-boy façade. There’s a loan shark hot on his tail, though, and only Sam can help keep his movie-star face intact. But telling her the truth could cost him something he needs more than money. Her love.

Chasing Kings was a light and enjoyable read with a naughty hero with a very dirty twinkle in his eye. When porn star, Ethan Silver, meets a very different (non porn-star) Samantha Hart in his hotel suite, he’s intrigued by the buttoned-up pretty lady who banters back with him and holds her own. He’s sure that there’s more to Samantha than meets the eye and on the same night, he’s giving her the tour of Las Vegas.

Samantha Hart is taken in by the flirty, Ethan Silver. She’s makes a quick escape after their first meeting. When she’s back in her own room, she decides that she wants to investigate him further and decides to watch one of his films. The name of the films were hilarious and very typically crass. She’s in the middle of this very, um, enjoyable film when a knock on her door interrupts her. It’s Ethan and he’s not giving up so quickly. Before she knows it, he’s strides into the room and sees his face on the TV screen. I just have to make a quick comment that if a strange man I only met for minutes walked into my hotel room, I’d be reaching for the nearest and hardest object available.

Anyway, Sam hits it off with Ethan again and she’s agreed to his tour of Las Vegas. I enjoyed the humorous and sexy vibe to this story. It doesn’t get too deep but there is subplot involving Ethan who owes a lot of money to some bad men. The romance between Ethan and Sam is always at the forefront. Ethan never hides or shies away from his work towards Sam. He’s very open and honest and thinks of the people he sleeps with as colleagues. Sometimes colleagues who are friends with benefits.

Sam knows her fling with Ethan will last as long as her trip but she soon finds herself helping Ethan out with his problems, and it was kinda refreshing to see there being no secrets. After a painful beating, Ethan opens up to Sam and asks her for help. Sam agrees and ends up doing something for Ethan that she wasn’t planning on doing. The sexy times are very hawt and dirty, and though the ending was a little quick, it more or less suited the pace of the story.
The only thing I question is that Ethan decides to take a break from his work, and wants to try something new but he may go back to working as a porn star. I wonder if that was a safe option to use because would Sam have issues if he had carried on working, and what would her reaction been?

The story ends on a positive note, though the bad guy lets Ethan know that he’s not entirely rid of him which I think is believable but again, the worry is at the back of my mind that there might be trouble down the road for him in future. Nonetheless, Chasing Kings was a fun and sexy read. I give it a B-
