She’s the one that got away. He’s the one she can’t forget.

Photojournalist Christine Forsythe is ready to tackle her naughty little to-do list, and who better to tap for the job than a hot groomsman? But when she crashes into her best friend’s older brother, Christine realizes her list needs updating. And fast. Tyler Dresco took her virginity during the best night of her life, then bolted. Now that they’re trapped together at a destination wedding, she’s going to get her revenge.

Tyler has never forgiven himself for how completely he lost control all those years ago. Being in Christine’s arms had felt right…until he realized what he’d taken from her in the hallway of a cheap motel. And oh, how she’s making him pay for it now. The insatiable heat between them has only grown stronger, but every time things heat up, Christine walks away.

With every encounter, things go a little bit further until Christine’s caught in her own trap of seduction. And before their time’s up, Tyler’s not the only one wanting more…

E: After MinnChica and I reviewed the last book of this series Best Man with Benefits, and had the opportunity to check out the rest of the series I had to say yes. I certainly enjoyed this first installment which took two tropes I enjoy, second chance at love and best friend’s older brother, and mixed them together to create a humorous, touching, and intense story.

MinnChica: I really enjoyed the other book in this series we read, and was looking forward to reading the others in this series. I love the set up of all the books happening at the same time, and getting some kind of idea as to what is going to happen in future books. It’s fun and exciting and different. The tension between Christine and Tyler was off the charts in the last book, and I was excited to see how their story would play out.

E: I loved the give and take, push and pull game of cat and cat or mouse and mouse depending on the situation between Christine and Tyler. They had a rather messy unfinished history which colored every aspect of their lives and was clearly evident at the destination wedding from the moment they ran into each other again, literally. After they got over their shock of seeing each other again the games began. Tyler thought Christine would allow him to apologize then they could be friends again and maybe work out some of their mutual tension. Instead he found himself alternately trying to prove he wasn’t the same man who ran so many years ago and that he could still rock Christine’s world. Christine on the other hand was torn between wanting him to avoid her, wanting to prove he missed out on a good thing when he ran, and wishing he would chase after her. As the two battled, they kept turning up the temperature between reminders of their past encounter and intense moments in the present.

MinnChica: The tension between Christine and Tyler was out of this world. The push and pull between them was like riding an emotional roller coaster with no end in sight. There were times I both loved and hated it. Christine can hold a grudge, and she let Tyler’s past mistakes color a lot of her opinion of him all these years later. While I thought the tension between them was thick enough to cut with a knife, there were times I wanted Christine to move on from the past and accept that they had both changed, and that they were totally different people at this point in time.

E: In addition to the tension and angry sexy times *fans self* both Christine and Tyler did find themselves revealing bits and pieces they never shared before. It was almost as if a temporary truce was declared then one would misinterpret the other and the battle of wills would begin again. I thought the balance between soft moments and hard edged ones was good because it allowed me to see more depth in their characters. I also thought their interactions with their friends revealed a lot. And I loved finding out what happened that night in the woods *grin*.

MinnChica: Oh man, the sexy times between these two were angry and intense and so, SO, good! I loved the way their relationship progressed from angry sex to something sweeter and more tender, and then would swing into the kinky territory. It was fun and sexy and stayed true to their emotions and feelings throughout the book.

E: All in all I thought this was a great introduction to the series and the set up for other potential romances. All was not smooth sailing for Christine and Tyler and the glimpses of the other bridesmaids showed everyone was experiencing challenges in romance. Having read two installments now I think this was a great idea and I hope the middle two stories live up to the promise set by the first and the last. I can’t wait to see what the next couple experiences.
I give Falling for the Groomsman a B+

MinnChica: All in all, I am continuing to enjoy the Wedding Dare series. I love the set up, and seeing bits and pieces unfold of the other couples as each book comes out. I thought Christine and Tyler were both fun, but somewhat flawed characters, and their romantic journey was both sweet and super sexy! I’m really excited to see how the rest of the books pan out.

  1. I have to say while I appreciate the review and am otherwise intrigued by the book, I will never ever read it. The cover screams “Porn! Between sickly green people!” Ugh. Even if the woman wasn’t green, it just looks too porn-y for my taste.
