Review – Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis

Reviewer: MinnChica

I love Shalvis’ writing, and I’ve been hooked on the Cedar Ridge series since it first released. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going on with the brother who was keeping his distance, and Shalvis didn’t disappoint!

Jacob’s history with his family is dark and ugly and one that he isn’t sure how to patch up. Add in the fact that he just completed a mission that left him feeling as if he lost another brother, Jacob’s in a dark place. When he returns to find a sexy woman living off a boat, tied to his dock, he’s intrigued enough to settle down a little and face a little more of life.

I adored this book. Jacob was so dark and broody and intense, I absolutely adored him for it! He was so sexy and a little tortured that I couldn’t help but fall in love with him. The fact that he was so intrigued by Sophie made him that much more endearing to me. His devotion to figuring out what her deal was, all while slowly starting to deal with his own drama was so perfect for him!

I loved Sophie. The poor girl couldn’t seem to catch a break, but I loved her perseverance. The fact that she refused to give up, refused to give in, refused to accept anything less than her all… She is the kind of heroine that I would love to be friends with in real life. 🙂 I adored her, and when paired with Jacob, I thought these two were so adorable together.

The relationship between Sophie and Jacob was hot! Their chemistry is off the charts, and every moment they spent together sizzled so much I couldn’t help but cheer for them at every turn.

In addition to a fun, strong romance, I also really love the dynamics between the Kincaid family. Seeing the prodigal son return, and how that impacted the other Kincaid siblings, well I loved that. The bonds they have between them are so strong, and I absolutely love the way Shalvis puts families and those bonds front and center in her series.

All in all, I really enjoy Nobody But You. I think Shalvis’ writing keeps getting stronger and stronger, and I can’t help but fall in love every time I crack open one of her books. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next!
I give Nobody But You a B
