How I got this book: E-Arc from Publisher

23699671“Don meets Trevor when he goes home for the holidays. Could a long distance romance be his holiday wish come true?

Donald Bradley is home for the holidays. While running an errand for his mother, he meets Trevor Oxford, who is everything Don could ask for in a man. However, Don does not intend to have any type of relationship with him. Trevor lives and works in the small town and Don lives two hundred miles away in the city. Trevor is confident and aggressive in his pursuit of Don, who is confused by Trevor’s attentiveness. Don wants to run away from Trevor and run to him at the same time.

Could a long distance romance be just what Don needs to start the New Year? Will Don accept what Trevor has to offer, giving him what he really wants this holiday season?

Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published elsewhere. It has been revised and re-edited for release with Totally Bound Publishing.”

I didn’t like this read. The majority of the erotic scenes took place in dream sequences which I always find a to be a cheat to get more sex into a story where the characters don’t know each other.

For some reason Trevor is smitten with Don, we never really learn why so it’s kind of an instalove attraction to the point where he breaks and enters to further their first sexual encounter. This, even after Don had put the brakes on that sex earlier that day because he didn’t want to engage in a long distance relationship. Definitely non-con in my eyes.

I found the sex scenes naive and unsafe and the writing was stilted. The dialogue was choppy and didn’t flow naturally to point where this would have been a DNF if this wasn’t a review book.

I didn’t care for any of the characters here, main or secondary. I especially didn’t like Don’s mother and sister and their machinations. The red herring with the sister didn’t sit right with me and the story ended abruptly with no resolution to future of the men’s relationship. No
festive cheer here for me from any angle.

I’m giving Him for the Holidays an F
