Everyone has a favorite book with that line that you just love to quote again and again. Today I’m going to list five of my favorite books and a memorable line from each of them.
First, isn’t Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James on everyone’s favorite list right now? Like a lot of you, I couldn’t get enough of it either. I have read it at least three times and each time, I find something that I missed. One of my favorite quotes from the book was “My inner goddess jumps up and down with cheer-leading pom-poms shouting yes at me.” I just loved all of the funny dialogue from Ana’s inner goddess.
My second favorite would have to be Bared to You by Sylvia Day. This book reminded me a lot of Fifty Shades of Grey and we have already established that I loved that book. I found Eva and Gideon to be so sexy and the banter between them was very engrossing. One of my favorite lines from the book was “He was the kind of guy that made a woman want to rip his shirt open and watch the buttons scatter along with her inhibitions.” Now that is the kind of man who could get my attention!
My third favorite is Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley. What’s not to like about a sexy mystery man waking you from sleep at night for some hot, between the sheets action? It’s like the one-night-stand that keeps coming back. My favorite quote from the book, “Do tequila shots followed by 5 hours of sex count as a date?” I think I would gladly trade in dating for that offer!
My fourth favorite is On Dublin Street by Samantha Young. Yes, I seem to have a pattern here. I love books with a strong, sexy man, the more creative the better. If he can save the day, then so much the better! My favorite quote from this book was, “You’re good with the words, I’ll give you that. I’m good with my hands. Will you let me give you that?” With a line like that, is it any wonder that Jocelyn couldn’t resist Braden?
I wouldn’t be much of an author if one of my favorite books wasn’t written by yours truly so my fifth favorite is Not Planning on You by Sydney Landon (me). This book combined my two loves, a strong, sexy man and a strong, quirky woman. I laughed and cried while writing it. One of my favorite quotes was, “Okay, Gray, you win. Let’s scratch the itch once and for all and get it out of our system. No clinging or crying when it’s over, though. I’m not going to make an honest man out of you or anything afterward.” This was a book where the woman was as strong as the man and I loved how that came together. Gray and Suzy are probably my favorite Danvers couple at this point and come on; the man could actually cook too, sold!
