Interview with Rebecca Zanetti

Today, we would like to introduce Rebecca Zanetti to The Book Pushers. While we’ve read and enjoyed Zanetti’s books here at Book Pushers, this is the first time we’ve had the chance to chat. Zanetti is the author of both paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Today, we’ll be chatting about her newest release, Sweet Revenge, the second book in the Sin Brothers series.

The Book Pushers: What can you tell us about the second Sin Brothers book, Sweet Revenge?

Rebecca: Sweet Revenge is about a tough soldier on a mission to find a surgeon who’d implanted kill chips in his spine and in those of his brothers. As the oldest of several brothers created by the military to be killers, Matt has protected them his entire life and can’t stop now, especially since the chips are set to detonate soon. During his hunt, he comes across Laney Jacobs, a feisty bar owner running from a bad past. It’s the worst time in the world for either of them to fall in love, but sometimes you don’t get to make that choice. Their journey together is explosive and sexy.

The Book Pushers: How did the idea for the Sin Brothers series come to you?

Rebecca: I like to write first chapters. In fact, I have many first chapters written just waiting for a complete story to unfold. In a romance, usually the hero and heroine meet, or meet again, in the first chapter, and that’s just fun to write. So I sat down and wrote the first chapter for Forgotten Sins, the first book in the series. In it, Josie Dean is called to the hospital to pick up her wounded husband…a man she hasn’t seen in two years—and he has amnesia and can’t tell her where he’s been. So, I wrote that scene and really liked it. From there I had to figure out who these people were, and why they were there at that time. The entire series unfolded from that moment.

The Book Pushers: How many books do you have planned for the Sin Brothers series?

Rebecca: My current contract is for four books, and we’ll go from there. I wouldn’t mind doing a spin-off of the Sin Brothers…in fact, I’d love it. 🙂

The Book Pushers: How do you make the mental switch between writing paranormal romance and romantic suspense?

Rebecca: You know, it’s not really much of a switch. Genre isn’t nearly as important as characterization. Readers fall in love with characters, and it doesn’t really matter if they’re soldiers, vampires, or cowboys. I just have to remember that in a romantic suspense, I can’t throw in a werewolf just for fun. 🙂

The Book Pushers: Most of us have go to comfort reads some are authors and others are specific titles. Who or what are your comfort reads and why?

Rebecca: My comfort reads are the Samantha Shaw series by Jennifer Apodaca, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, and the Death series by J.D. Robb. I’m a little bit in love with the men in these series, and I want to be the heroines, for the most part. That’s why I turn to these for comfort.

The Book Pushers: What can you tell us about your plans for your other two series?

Rebecca: Let’s see, what do I have going on? I’m writing Blind Faith, the 3rd book in the Sin Brothers series right now, and it’ll be released in June. It’s about Nate Dean, the middle brother who has always kept the family together. Then I have to write Marked, which is the tenth and final book in the Dark Protector series and is slated for a December release. It’s Janie’s book, for those of you who follow the series. For the Maverick Montana series, the next book, Rising Assets, will be released in February, and that’s a fun one because it features Colton Freeze and his best friend, Melanie Jacobson.

The Book Pushers: If you could say one thing to a prospective reader, what would it be?

Rebecca: Um…try my books? LOL! Seriously, I’m not sure what to say. If you like Alpha males and quirky, feisty females, you might like my books. Please let me know if you do. 🙂

Thanks so much Rebecca for being here today!! Make sure you stop by later this morning for a joint review of Sweet Revenge!
