I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love Shalvis’s writing. Her books always put a smile on my face, and she is a go-to author for me, every book, every time!
Hud was such a wonderful hero. He was sexy and growly and broody and moody and everything I love about those types of heroes. He took every aspect of his life so seriously, and absolutely hated letting his family or anyone who relied on him down. He went out on a limb for everyone and everything and I absolutely adored him for it. He is the type of hero that makes me swoon with every flip of the page.
I also really adored Bailey. She went through an especially horrific ordeal and now that she has a second chance, she is taking life by the horns and doing what she wants, when she wants it. She is determined to live life to the fullest and crossing off all those items on her bucket list that she was scared to before. I loved the positive outlook she had on life and I desperately wanted everything to go her way.
The romance between these two is adorable. I love that they have such amazing sexual chemistry, but that they don’t get off on the right foot. It takes Hud a few to realize that Bailey is going to stick around to finish her mural, and that she isn’t going to rush into his life and try to mess up with his family. I liked their slow burn and how their relationship didn’t consist of them living in each other’s pockets. They took their time, they got to know each other, and they lived their relationship in spans of weekend, whenever Bailey was at the resort. I loved that about them and couldn’t put the book down because of it.
The Kincaid family has absolutely drawn me in and made me fall in love. I can’t wait to read Jacob’s story and I can only hope that Shalvis will continue to write in this world, just like she did with Lucky Harbor. I adore the mountain setting, and the Kincaid family lodge has come to feel like a second home.
All in all, if you are a fan of Shalvis and the Lucky Harbor series, you won’t want to miss out on this book. Hud and Bailey are so perfect together and I absolutely adored this book. It’s a must read!
I give My Kind of Wonderful a B+
Great review! I too love everything by Jill Shalvis. I have re-read so many of her books. I can’t wait to read this one. Didn’t get enough Amazon gift cards for Christmas tho.
