Guest Post & Giveaway with Nico Rosso

Today we have science fiction romance author Nico Rosso here to talk a little about his newest release, The Limit of Desire. Take it away Nico!

What if you want it, you really want it and your partner wants it, too, but there’s just no way it’s going to happen?  You’re in the middle seats of an airplane.  You’re thousands of miles apart with only a phone line or Skype to connect you.  You’re in a crowded restaurant.

Instead of letting frustration kill the mood, use the delay to heighten the gratification.  That’s what Captain Jessa Tok and Sergeant Ryder Hiltop have to do.  They’re stuck behind enemy lines when they discover how deep their need for each other is in my sci-fi romance, THE LIMIT OF DESIRE.  There isn’t a time or place during the fight for them to strip off their body armor, so they do the next best thing.  They build their anticipation by talking about all the possibilities.  It’s like aural sex, the power of suggestion.  If you want the steamy details on what they’re planning to do with each other once they’re safely away from the battlefield, you’re just going to have to read the story.

But even if we’re not stuck in the trenches of the Limit War, we can use the same technique to spice up our own lives.  No one’s listening in that crowded restaurant, so tell your partner what you’re planning with them later.  It would be scandalous if anyone overheard and that just adds to the fun.  (If you ever see me and my wife, romance author Zoë Archer, out to dinner, it might look like we’re discussing the appetizer, but we’re really talking dessert. *wink*)

And if the sexy talk doesn’t come naturally, try working from a script.  Romance novels are a great place to find characters and dialogue to set the mood.  You could even listen to a book on tape, like Zoë’s COLLISION COURSE  By delaying the action, the mind and body have time to rev up, get tantalized.

So what do you say?  Would you leave a sexy little note in a coat pocket?  Make a steamy suggestion just before the waiter arrives?  Leave a comment with some of the ways you might whet the appetite when it’s impossible to get out of your clothes.  I’ll pick a comment at random to win a copy of THE LIMIT OF DESIRE.

  1. This sounds like a great science-fiction romance, a genre I really need to read more from. Thank you for the giveaway.

  2. I’m always on the lookout for great SF romances because I don’t think there are enough of them out there! This one’s definitely going on my wishlist 🙂

  4. This book looks awesome! I love SF and I love the blurb! Thanks for taking the time to write a great post (and the giveaway’s awesome too 😉 )

I don’t think that I would be brave enough to talk sexy to my BF in public. First of all, he’s kinda deaf so if he’d ask me to repeat it louder, I’d just die. Second, I’m kind of a tomboy so I can’t pull off sultry and sexy very well. If I can’t believe it, no one else will, right?

I guess that leaves notes. I’m very, very lucky to have found a man that has the same sense of humor that I do and we can leave silly notes to each other or text and it’s fun! We also have a lot of inside jokes just between the two of us, so that’s a lot of fun. But downright sexy… we’d laugh b/c neither of us would be considered sexy people 🙂

  5. I have the first 2 books and now I can’t wait to get this book! Sounds like it will be as good as the first 2.

  6. I enjoyed Taken to the Limit, and I’m looking forward to this new story, The Limit of Desire. It sounds like a great read.

  7. When I am out with my boyfriend in the restaurant or just going for a walk, I have a habit of making sexy innuendo. I especially love to make them when he is working very late. It gives him something to think of when he gets home.

  8. Thanks for your comments! It’s great to see the sci-fi romance readers showing up. And Susan and Barbara are veterans of the Limit War, no less!

erinF1, I think that laughter is super sexy and shows great communication, so even if you and your BF pass silly notes, it shows a lot about your relationship.

And Kai, I see you get what I’m talking about. It’s great to have something to build up the anticipation.

  9. I love when the sexual tension in the book is building slowly 🙂 It’s always much more interesting! Thank you for this giveaway, always a pleasure to read sci-fi!

  10. I like to whisper to my husband in places he can’t say or do anything! He usually tells me to cut it out. Thanks for the interview. Debbie

  11. I’ve left some great notes for my husband in his lunch bag. He loves those. Great guest post and thank you for the giveaway!

  12. Hi, Kara-Karina. Because my hero and heroine are stuck far behind enemy lines, there is definitely a slow build in the sexual tension, but there are plenty of sparks flying.

And Debbie and Kelly, I like that you’re keeping your guys guessing with the power of suggestion. Sounds like fun.

  13. So…after reading this guest post I had to go out and get a copy of The Limit of Desire, so very glad that I did. Thanks for an extremely enjoyable read!
P.S. I am not entering this contest but I wanted to let you know.

  14. Thanks, E_booklover! It’s always great to hear from a happy reader. I’m so glad you enjoyed yourself in the Limit War.
