Re-Design Launch Party & Giveaway!

As many of you know, we have gone through multiple layouts here at The Book Pushers. Not long ago we decided to undergo another change and worked tirelessly at coming up with logos, designs, color schemes and all those fun things that come with a re-design.

As you can see, we are SO incredibly happy with the final product. We think the new design gives the blog a classy and fantastical feel.

We would like to give a shout out to super extraordinaire book illustrator Joanne Renaud, the incredible designer of our new header and logo. Joanne, you did an amazing job and we are so happy with the final product.

We’d also like to give huge thanks to our very own Lou. She has re-designed the site, is working on our new Twitter page, and created new avatars based on the new logo. Lou, without you we would be stuck.

So today we say goodbye to the trusty old beige theme and welcome in the new Book Pushers!

To celebrate the launch of the new redesign, us Book Pushers have pooled together and are giving away the biggest prize to date! (We are sorry, but due to Geographical and Tax Restrictions – only open to US and the UK)

I really like the cover art at the top of the page and the ease in navigation this new site has. I also appreciate all the links to different author pages. Being me, while I like the artistic look, I hope that the predominant colors of blue and pink are periodically changed out. Perhaps with the seasons? I think that will keep the site looking fresh. As to the contest, I would like to enter for the 2nd package – the published book one. Favorite romantic book – hmmm…while I can’t say I have only one favorite romance book, there is one that is very sweet. It is by Ellis Peters called “An Excellent Mystery”. As some other people have said, I really enjoy romance books that are more than just the romance between the lead characters. This one has a little bit of everything. Thanks for the opportunity to enter into this contest and I look forward to more author interviews.

  2. If I could also add, thanks to the Bookpushers, I read my first Patricia Briggs book – Moon Crossed ( a mercy Thompson novel) that I really enjoyed. If the contest was about a new favorite series, that would be my choice. Thanks.

  3. I am a new follower so I don’t know what your blog looked like before but I do like the design of this one. The colors are very soothing. The blues are a more calm color, instead of some blogs that have alot of bright color and alot of activity going on which sometimes is too much and makes it hard to concentrate to actually read the blog, or maybe that is just me.

This is a great giveaway! I would love either prize but the Kindle and ebooks would be TERRIFIC! I have been saving for a kindle but have not bought one yet.

  4. The new blog looks fabulous! I would love to enter in for the Kindle. I don’t know if I have an all time favorite romance novel, but since I love J.R. Ward, I’m going to go with Lover Awakened. Thanks! skoverstreet@aol.com

  5. Regina Brookman

Definitely here for the kindle deal. My husband is sick of seeing all my books around the house, lol.
This is the first time I’ve visited this site but I do really like how easy it is to navigate. Very important for me since I do most of my browsing from my iPhone.
As for a favorite romance I’m not sure I could pick! But I am partial to Gena Showalter.

  6. ooooo what a cool deal.

I like how soothing and professional the website looks. Nothing sends me running like a bad design that puts me into work mode as opposed to relax mode. I just wish that the header had the same background as the page so it’d look a little like it was floating. But then again, I just love floating designs so. I’d like the Kindle deal, and my favorite romance book happens to be “Watermelon” by Marian Keyes.

    Thank you!! 😀

  7. Pamela Calkins

Love the clean look and especially the fonts. Easy to read site and the drawing it unique. Must go with the Kindle option least I be left behind in the technology rush. Current favorite book is Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh.

  8. i really like the new blog!!!it has a romantic feel to it and a sense of calmness!!!it’s perfect!!and what an amazing giveaway!!!!i would definately go for the kindle!!!i ve always wanted one so it’s the perfect gift for me!!! thank you!!!

  9. My favorite aspect of this blog is definitely how the reviews are laid out by rating category; it makes it super easy to browse the best books! Also, I’m a big fan of the color scheme as well.

I’d love to be entered for the Kindle package, this whole contest looks amazing! My favorite romance book… hmm, probably “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon, although “The Tea Rose” by Jennifer Donnelly is a close second (followed by “The Winter Rose” as a close third… clearly I can’t pick one!).

    Thanks!

  10. I love love love the art at the top of the page! Also stripes and polka dots always go amazing together so I love that part of the design as well.

I would like to be entered for the kindle giveaway (it is just about one of the best giveaways I’ve seen).

My favorite romance is Shadowfever, the last book in Karen Moning’s fever series because I cant get Mac & Barrons out of my mind and it’s my go to book when I have run out of new books to read.

  11. Wow, this is pretty amazing. I was sent over here by Ms. Burkhart. I do like the clean look to this blog. I haven’t seen the previous one so I have no comparison. I do like the menu drop downs. This helps me. I like the review grading for easy to pick by grade. The upcoming events is also helpful.

I’d be interested in the kindle giveaway. That is just amazing! My favourite romance is hard to decide upon. I’m not sure if it qualifies as romance, but Anne Bishop’s Dark Jewels series is my favourite. It’s my favourite because I’ve re-read the trilogy at least 100 times. Morgan Hawke’s Interstellar series is also a favourite as I’ve read those books more than 100 times too.

  12. I like the colour, love the scroll to the bottom and like the icon. Alas as I’m in Ireland I’m entering for the Book Depository draw.

  13. I love the colors the patterns and the organization of the it. My favorite author is patricia briggs tho i love kerri arthur, kelley armstrong, jr ward…..the list goes on and on Id like to enter for the kindle please. Thank you for the give away and good luck to everyone!

  14. Beautiful blog layout. Very easy on the eyes and I love the colors and layout.
I would like to be entered in the Kindle contest. I can’t name an all time favorite book, but my all time favorite author is: Julia Quinn!

  15. Hey there, congrats on the redesign. This is my first time coming by here so I can’t speak for the previous design but I like the current look. I like the layout especially the Review section, by grading and also an index by author. Depending if I want to glom an author the index will by especially helpful!

I’m interested in the Kindle with ebooks. That’s an amazing list not to mention super generous! My favorite read of all time? Hmm there are so many! But one book that sticks out – and a constant comfort read – is True Betrayals by Nora Roberts.

  16. Jackie Wisherd

I like the ease of the site…easy to get around…and I like the delicate colors …plus there are some interesting things said in the blogs. Easy to read them. This looks like a wonderful opportunity for the winner to read some great books. I have signed on so that I don’t miss a thing.

  17. I love the new site. The best thing for me is how easy it is to navigate!!! Great improvements.

  18. The design is lovely to look at. The colors are easy on the eyes, which I love! The light blue and the lighter blue. The soft pink dots match the text of the link buttons and the column to the right, and they provide just enough contrast to the blue. The pretty “Book Pushers” banner at the top with the couple below is my favorite part, and it really pulls the design together. Wonderful job on the design!

I would like to enter in the Kindle giveaway with the ebooks. I just got introduced into the wonderful world of the romance genre so I haven’t been able to read much romance books yet, which is why I’m hoping for a win of all the ebooks to find out what’s out there hehe). Out of the books I have read my favorite is Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas.

Thank you to all who put this together, what an awesome giveaway!

  19. Holly Brookman

I’m in for the kindle. My favorite romance is the darkest secret by gena showalter.

The site look great. Much better than the last design.

  20. i dont know what you blog looked like before but this one is very nice. i love the art work at the top and the colors are beautiful and soothing. id love to win either prize. thank you for the chance. i cant pick a favorite book ive read but some of my favorite authors are maya banks, lauren dane, lora leigh…and the list goes on!
    shadow_kohler(at)att(dot)net

  21. Count me in for the print package, please! (I’m in Canada)

Hmm, Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series (I can’t pick just one book, they’re all good) would be my all-time favourite romance.

    Your layout looks great!

    andra(dot)always(at)gmail(dot)com

  22. I like the way the Reviews are categorized & searchable by Rating level.
I don’t have an all time favourite book; there are so many that I’ve read & loved that I’d be hard pressed to name just one.

Please enter me for the Print book giveaway; I just love The Book Depository. Naming my favourite bookstore is a lot easier!

  23. Please enter me in the print book prize pack drawing.

The site design provides intuitive, user-friendly navigation with pleasing aesthetics. The cover art and logo are clever and distinctive, and the subdued colors are easy on the eyes, nice work! The only thing I would have done differently is color choice of hyperlinks on the pink background areas. The light blue hyperlinks, although very “pretty” are difficult to make out against the pink background at a glance, and requires the viewer to focus. I’d suggest using black, bold, or a slightly darker blue font for those links.

My favorite romance book would have to be “All the Queen’s Men” by Linda Howard. This was one of my few pieces of reading material during an extended training exercise and it was an awesome read – combine high-tech gadgetry, a devious interanational assassin-type plot, and two high energy characters placed into an extraordinary (but believable) situation, and you get a seriously explosive, exciting, and suspenseful romance story!

  24. As a first time visitor, I really like the look of the blog but I don’t know what it was like before. I like that you can access reviews in so many ways and I look forward to reading some of the books that have gotten positive reviews that I haven’t read yet. I like the color scheme. It’s colorful without being so bright that it hurts your eyes and everything seems to be easy too get to. So I’m going to spend some time checking out the blog and more blogs from the blogroll that I haven’t been to as well. And hey, just in time for a contest. Can’t beat that. I would be interested in the Kindle prize. I definitely can’t limit my favorite book to just one. I will mention that I love anything by Jaci Burton and her website is where I was when I found this blog so I’ll go with her as one of my favorites that I can read over and over and still love.

  25. I am new to the blog, so I can only tell you how much I like the set up now. Definitely easy on the eyes and a breeze to navigate.

Would love to win the Kindle prize.

As for my favorite book, I have so many. Laurell K Hamilton and Christine Feehan’s Drake sister’s got me hooked on paranormal, Stephanie Lauren’s Cynster series on historical, and early Elizabeth Lowell stories on romantic suspense.

    Thanks tons for the contest.

    caity_mack at yahoo dot com

  26. Wow! What an amazing contest!! Either rize would be great, but I’d like to through in my hat for the fully loaded Kindle.

I’ve never been at your site before and found my way here through Joely Sue Burkhart’s blog. From what i’ve seen so far, your blog seems well organized and easy to read. Some blogs try to get too fancy and I can’t read the screen. Very annoying!

I’ve been reading all subgenres of Romance books for over 1 1/2 years, so it’s really hard to tell which is my fav. I stumbled across the Black Dagger Blotherhood series by JR Ward when I first started reading paranormal books. Dark Lover is one of my all-time favorite books, in general – for sure in the top 5.

I’ll be back to check out some reviews and I always love finding new authors.
    Thanks,
    Mara

  27. Your newly re-designed site gives a very happy feeling to my eyes. Congratulations!

I’ve never had an e-reader, thank you for the chance!

    tatiana_lwg(at) yahoo.com

  28. I am a new follower but I love the new blog. I looks great and is very user friendly. Really like the la yout as well, It is going to be hard to pick just one favorite book hmmmmm I guess I will go with Lover Mine by JR Ward.

  29. I love the colour scheme and layout of the blog, it’s really easy to navigate and pretty. All time favourite romance? Ugh, okay I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with romances, but I do love Persuasion by Jane Austen (which sort of counts as romance, as well as being a classic), Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning (though that’s erotic romance), oh and I really liked After The Night by Linda Howard, and anything by Richelle Mead is awesome but her books are like paranormal with a little romance.

I’m only entering for the print prize, and thanks for the giveaway.

  31. i love the colours you’ve used on your blog, it really stands out. I’m entering the Kindle contest (UK resident). It’s hard to say what my favourite romance novel is. My favourite authors are Rachel Vincent, Karen Marie Moning, Karen Chance, Kim Harrison, Patricia Briggs etc.

  32. colleen rowan kosinski

I love the art on your blog. Nice job!
I’d like to enter the kindle contest.
I loved the romance element in Alice Hoffman’s The Ice Queen.

  33. colleen rowan kosinski

I love the artwork on your blog. Nice job!
I’d love to win a kindle!
My favorite romance is in Alice Hoffman’s book, Ice Queen.

  34. Wow fantastic giveaway! I like the picture you guys use at the top…kind of romantic in a whimsical bookish way 😀 I am entering both! They are both supremely fantastic and i am SOOOOO grateful for the giveaway!!! :DDDD (that is a lot of smiling for me lol)
For YA my favorite romance is Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins but for adult I love anything by Janet Evanovich 😀

  35. I can’t really see anything that I don’t like, the layout looks very simple and elegant and I particularly like the header image.

I’m in the UK and entering for the Kindle Package.

My all time favourite romance will have to be Jane Eyre. It is such a fantastic novel and will forever remind me of my English Lit class back in college 🙂

  36. Debbie Bussie

I really like the new blog. These colors are so soft and comfy feeling. I would live to be entered for the kindle. And any other giveaways. I really enjoy your blog and reviews. Thanks so much.

    Dpbussie@yahoo.com

  37. I really like the color scheme. It has this kind of calming effect that you don’t get with a lot of blogs. I feel like I could spend a lot of time here lol. I don’t really know a lot of romance authors. When I was in my romance phase I really didnt look at the author, just picked up books with pictures of delicious looking men lol. Thanks for the giveaway! I really enjoyed my visit!

  38. A favorite book? Talk about a difficult question. I’m rather new to reading romance, and I think that, if forced, I’ll go with “Letters from Home” by Rhonda Nelson, my introduction to the genre.

This is my first time at the site, so I can’t compare it to any previous incarnations. However, I really like the color scheme. The blues are feminine without being frilly, and the art at the top is absolutely lovely! It really ties the stripes, dots, and the other colors together. The site seems easily navigable, too, and the content seems great!

I would be happy to be entered into the drawing for either the kindle or the hard copies. (Both have authors from my TBR list.) If I had to pick a preference, however, I suppose it’d be the Kindle drawing, since I don’t yet have an e-reader.

  39. The new look is fantastic! I find it very easy to read! and I would LOVE to win the Kindle!!!!

  40. I like the color scheme. I like the fairy tale theme of the header. Something about the couple feels off to me, though. The clingy way they’re holding onto each other?

I’d like to be entered for both, though if I have to pick only one I’d pick the kindle.

My all time favorite romance novel? Wow, that’s a tough one. I’ll say…Trial by Desire by Courtney Milan.

  41. I love the colors of the new design–quite soothing and still welcoming (the vertical lines give the sense of wallpaper, so the website feels like a comfortable room to visit). My favorite romance would be Pride and Prejudice. A more modern choice would be J.D. Robb’s In Death Series, and the first, Naked in Death, is my particular favorite. And, finally, I’d definitely choose the Kindle drawing to be entered in!

  42. I love the soft, feminine look of the new site. The colors are actually very restful. While my personal library is HUGE, it’s time to enter the digital age and win a Kindle. Many of the publishers I’ve contacted are switching to e-ARC’s and I can’t spend 12 hours reading at the computer. Not with my bad back.

My all time favorite Romance books are by Lynsay Sands, the Argeneau Vamp Romance series.

  43. I’m new to your blog, but I love the color. Very soothing.

I would love to win the kindle and my all-time favorite romance book is Naked in Death by J.D. Robb
